Matthew “JS” Cole joined The Banyans Health and Wellness in February 2020 to gain more direct experience in caring for those with mental health challenges. Well armed with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and a Masters degree in Christian Counseling, JS aspires to move into academia as a lecturer in psychology or counseling and is grateful for the real-life experience he is now attaining through his role as a Wellness Coach at The Banyans. He also holds Level 2 membership of the Australian Counselling Association.
JS enjoys being able to interact with the guests and finds meaning in listening to their stories. He believes his role helps him gain new insights and perspectives, particularly when helping helping them to navigate good and difficult days during their time at the Residence.
JS is interested in self-discovery, and enjoys cooking and spending time with his dog.
