John is the first Australian to qualify as a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and graduated from the International Institute of Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP). In 2010, he established The Oak Centre, a specialist counselling service for individuals and couples struggling with porn and sex addiction. He is currently an Associate Clinician at The Banyans Health & Wellness Centre in Brisbane and has been a presenter at the annual Australian and New Zealand Addiction Conference.
John has also provided specialized training and presented at various institutions such as the University of Canberra and the Australian National University. He has gained hands-on experience working at addiction recovery centres in the US and Thailand.
John is a member of the Australian Counselling Association and holds several additional qualifications including a Bachelor of Social Science, a Diploma of Education, a Graduate Diploma in Community Counselling, and a Master of Arts in Counselling.
