Gillian completed her qualifications as a registered nurse in 2012 when she decided to pursue a career change after working in the tourism, hospitality and customer services industry for over 15 years. Throughout her training, Gillian developed a strong interest in community health and mental health. Gillian will be commencing further study in 2022 through a Certificate of Mental Health.

Gillian joined The Banyans in 2019 because of its focus on holistic health and emphasis on caring for guests in a personalised way that respected them and where they are at in life. She considers it a privilege to be a part of and witness. Gillian’s favourite book is The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy, specifically the quote, “What’s the bravest thing you’ve ever said?” asked the boy. “Help” said the horse.

Gillian is a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and a member of the Drug and Alcohol Nurses Australasia (DANA).
