Lisa joined The Banyans Health and Wellness when it opened in 2016. Previously working in human services, including in homeless shelters and case managing homeless families, Lisa understood the need for multidisciplinary, comprehensive, holistic therapy programs, particularly ones aimed at healing trauma. As a result, she was immediately attracted to the vision of The Banyans. She was excited to help people become well, rather than just dealing with the symptoms of their trauma, for example, homelessness.
Originally from Canada, where she gained her Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in psychology, Lisa will soon complete a Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) (Honours). She has a 1st and 2nd degree black belt in Taekwondo and is a certified martial arts instructor. Martial arts lessons sometimes form part of the programs at The Banyans.
Lisa enjoys connecting with those staying at The Banyans. She loves learning about them and hearing their stories. Lisa finds great joy in being able to inspire and encourage those staying at the residence.
