Ruth is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar who joined The Banyans team at the end of 2021. Ruth has worked for over 25 years in Public Health and Psychology research and teaching, more recently working in adult community mental health and private hospital settings. Ruth’s work as a practitioner is complimented by her research work as a QUT academic in the area of digital mental health resources as additional treatment options. She combines both person-centred, action-oriented therapeutic interventions with evidence-based online tools where appropriate to enhance outcomes of those she works with.
Ruth’s passion is being able to work collaboratively with people to discover their authentic selves, and support them to learn and embed new strategies as they move forwards with their lives.
Ruth is a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA), a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS), a co-convener of the APS e-Psychology interest group and a member of the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT).
